A Neapolitan pizza restaurant just opened in Homerton
Well Street Pizza serves wood-fired pizza in the classic Naples style.
Since opening a couple of weeks ago on, you guessed it, Well Street, the restaurant has been serving up pizzas by the slice in the day and with accompanying sides and Italian wines come the evening.
A wood fired oven in an open plan kitchen on the ground floor churns out Neapolitan-style pizzas with a Roman crispy base to up to 40 diners at the surrounding tables.
Then there’s a basement dive bar with room for 35 more people at large banquet seats for groups of up to eight – or available for private hire. It’s been been opened by the team at Urban Pubs & Bars, which owns five pubs in London including The Old Ship just off Mare Street. The restaurant is one of several new openings in the Well Street area in recent months which include cocktail bar Machine No. 3 and The Refinery fitness studios.
