A huge outdoor gallery is being created at Hackney Downs Studios with artists, community groups and other individuals invited to contribute work.
The Wall is returning for a second year and will host around 30 new works to be installed at the studios’ Village Green for six months.
This year will see art created around the theme of ‘Boundaries’ following last year’s project which asked for responses based on ‘Transformation’.
Artists have been invited to submit proposals for work to be created on boards measuring 1220mm x 1220mm.
The deadline for proposals is Friday 16 August and The Wall exhibition will officially open on Thursday 12 September.
EDIT: The deadline for proposals has been moved back a week until Friday 23 August.
Explaining the Boundaries theme, Hackney Downs Studios said: We are opening up the opportunity to critique, dislocate and question our immediate surroundings and challenge the current architectural make up of the city that surrounds Hackney Downs Studios.
“How do we react to the challenge of moving into a space with constraints, barriers and obstacles? How do we find freedom, creativity and expression within boundaries?”
